Specialized Recalls Select 2024 Tarmac SL8 Frames

Specialized recalled certain 2024 Tarmac SL8 frames this week. The issue involves headset bearing seats that may have manufacturing defects.

Only frames manufactured between March and June 2024 are affected. You can find your frame’s production date on the bottom bracket shell.

What to Do

Check your serial number on Specialized’s recall page. If your frame is affected, contact your local dealer for a free inspection. They’ll check for bearing seat irregularities and replace the frame if needed.

Symptoms to Watch

Affected bikes may show play in the headset that cannot be adjusted out. Some riders reported clicking sounds when standing on the pedals or handling rough roads.

If your bike feels normal and the serial number isn’t on the list, no action is required. Specialized says only about 2,000 frames globally are affected.

Keep your original purchase receipt for warranty claims.
