Garmin Recalls Edge 540 and 840 Units

Garmin recalls 50,000 Edge 540 and 840 units due to a battery issue that can cause unexpected shutdowns during rides.

The recall affects units manufactured between March and July 2024. Serial numbers starting with “3K4” and “3K5” are impacted.

No injuries have been reported. Garmin is offering free replacements through their website.

Check your device’s serial number in Settings > System > About This Device. Affected users should stop using the device immediately and contact Garmin support.
